A New Form of Legal Service 

 

The Legal Director was established in 2002 to provide a new channel of distribution for legal services to businesses in the UK. We provide businesses with an alternative approach to help resource their legal affairs. Our service is used by small, medium and large businesses.

Traditionally the main channels through which businesses obtain legal assistance and advice can be described as follows:

Channel 1 - the external law firm channel - the use of solicitors and/or barristers

and

Channel 2 - the in-house lawyer channel – the use of employed in-house lawyers

All businesses use Channel 1

Smaller and Medium sized businesses tend to use Channel 1 only

Larger businesses tend to use both Channels 1 and 2.

The Legal Director now offers all businesses a new alternative channel through which to better resource their legal affairs: That is, a flexible 'in-house' style consulting legal resource that can assist and advise in connection with any legal matter on an 'as and when required' basis.

Our service (1) assists smaller and medium sized businesses to use their external law firms more efficiently and saves them from having to recruit full time in-house counsel and (2) assists larger businesses who are looking for better value senior back up for their in–house legal teams where they are overstretched.

The legal matters we advise on include:

  • commercial contract issues
  • corporate transactions and related matters
  • franchising and intellectual property matters
  • disputes and litigation
  • employment law and related human resource issues
  • property matters
  • other commercial problems with a legal connection

Our service compliments and improves the legal service that you already receive from your external law firms.

Our service involves using a combination of our own expertise and that of our law firm contacts or the services of your own external law firms and is focused on identifying, organising and resolving or outsourcing your legal affairs which saves you both time and money.

Our service is provided by senior lawyers with between 10 and 20 years experience of working at a senior level in-house or at partner level within major law firms.
