The government’s consultation on holiday pay laws for part time workers came to a close earlier this month.
The consultation began in January to attempt to fix the disparity that arose after the Supreme Court’s judgment in Harper Trust v Brazel. This judgment created an anomaly whereby some atypical workers were receiving disproportionate holiday entitlement.
The new proposals make it is easier for employers to comply with the law by simplifying the holiday pay and entitlement rules.
