Please join us in welcoming Kerry Phillip to TLD. She becomes the 50th member of our team of lawyers – a landmark which we are proud and excited to celebrate. Kerry embodies the qualities and values which we espouse at TLD, and we couldn’t think of a better lawyer to help us reach that milestone.
Kerry has vast experience as a Legal Director/General Counsel, having spent over 30 years working in the UK and France, in a variety of businesses, ranging from small companies to large multinationals. Most recently, Kerry was Legal Director for Vodafone Business where she was a member of the executive leadership team. In this role, she was responsible for legal, regulatory, risk and compliance, governance and company secretarial matters for Vodafone in Europe, Africa and Asia. She was also Director of key subsidiary companies and Chair of the risk and compliance committee.
Kerry enjoys working with businesses of all sizes, finding practical solutions to problems, and providing sensible, actionable legal advice and support to manage risk and navigate difficulties. A commercial and business-focussed lawyer, Kerry aligns legal work to company strategy, prioritising the work that adds most value to the company, and stopping, automating, or offshoring matters that require only a light-touch legal review or no review at all. This brings welcome speed, efficiency and effective management of legal costs, as well as a focus on the legal matters that are important for the company. She is excited about adopting this approach to support growing businesses with TLD.
She values connections and relationships so has strong business, legal and women-in-technology networks, including many mentoring relationships. Kerry is also a trustee and company secretary for a social mobility charity, and mentors sixth form pupils from low-income backgrounds. When she isn’t working, Kerry enjoys running, hiking, cycling, yoga and reading.
