We are delighted to welcome Rachel Webb Wiles to the TLD Team. Rachel specialises in dispute resolution and competition law and comes to us with a strong regulatory practice having worked in a highly regulated sector for many years. She is experienced in the creation and roll out of compliance programmes on subjects ranging from data protection, industry specific regulation and competition law.

She has supported in-house ESG functions on the roll out of policies and training programmes and was part of a small team that delivered a flexible working policy prior to Covid. This helped shape the future of flexible working at a global FMCG company, which she cites as one of her proudest achievements.

Rachel adopts a proactive rather than reactive approach to legal work and likes identifying a particular area of risk for the business and developing solutions to mitigate that risk. She says, “I think this stems from having initially trained as a litigator and knowing that if you invest time up front you really mitigate problems down the line and minimise external legal spend.”

Her clients value her pragmatic and informed risk-based approach. She is not afraid to have difficult conversations and focuses on enabling a company’s strategic objectives by looking for creative solutions. An in-house lawyer at heart, she believes in the benefits a strong in-house legal resource can bring to a business. Having spent most of her career in a large corporate, she wanted to branch out and work for a wider range of clients in a flexible way. This is why she joined TLD. “Effectively I was looking for diversity, flexibility and more freedom to make “work” work for me.”

We are thrilled that she made the move and am sure she will be a great asset to our clients. If you would like to learn more about Rachel, or find out how she can support your business, take a look at her team profile and contact her on rachel.webbwiles@thelegaldirector.co.uk.
