For the last eight years, Trudy has been General Counsel for maritime-orientated design house and technical consulting firm BMT. She has particular expertise in corporate governance & company secretarial work, litigation/dispute resolution, risk management, corporate law, mergers & acquisitions/joint ventures and commercial law.
A trusted business partner to her clients, she is passionate about delivering on strategy and change management. She loves working alongside her colleagues to transform organisations, setting them up for success by prioritising the right culture and behaviours.
Trudy sees the role of General Counsel as integral to the business. In her words, “As their in-house lawyer, we are all in it together!” An energetic, driven and resilient lawyer, she thrives in fun, fast-paced team environments. Her clients value her commercial mindset, global outlook and the commitment which she brings to her work.
She is particularly proud of her achievements during the Pandemic when, as a member of the global Executive Committee, she helped ensure the company not only survived, but thrived.
Whilst continuing to support BMT, she has joined The Legal Director, immediately understanding and buying into the service model and feeling a strong alignment between her own values and those espoused by TLD. “I feel privileged to be a part of growing the TLD business and I am looking forward to embedding myself with clients and adding commercial value from day one.”
