Last week, we met in London for our Spring QM (quarterly meeting).
As we all work remotely, it is important that we have these opportunities to get together in person. It gives everyone in the team a chance to catch up properly with their colleagues, to share their experiences of working in this way, and to offer each other support, advice and encouragement.
We had some great talks during the day. Our Non Exec Director Sally Wells walked us through our new Vision & Values and Client Charter, and we looked at ways in which we can embody these values and demonstrate them practically with our clients.
We also had a learning session with PR and communications consultancy weare1948 about how to have difficult conversations calmly and effectively. The team had varying approaches which provoked a good degree of conversation and some laughter.
Each QM we recognise a particular Client Legal Director whose contributions to the team and their clients deserve celebration. This time it was Amanda Heath who also featured in our team spotlight section. All our Client Legal Directors are General Counsel, but some have particular sector experience or legal knowledge, and it is useful for the team to know about this so they can draw on this expertise if needed. Amanda advises technology, data and cloud service provider businesses and is an expert on data protection matters. She talked about some of the challenges she faces in this fast-moving sector and the creative solutions she employs for the benefits of her clients.
We rounded the day off with drinks and chatting before heading off to catch our trains.
