Ed is the Founder of The Legal Director (TLD), a business he established in 2007 with a clear belief: that every company should have access to commercially minded, senior in‑house legal expertise.
What began as a simple idea has grown into a nationwide community of exceptional General Counsel consultants supporting hundreds of organisations across the UK. Ed is proud of the impact TLD’s Client Legal Directors make every day and the trusted relationships they build with the businesses they advise.
After serving as CEO for many years and guiding TLD through significant growth and evolution, Ed is handing over the reins of CEO. As Founder of TLD, he remains closely involved in shaping the long‑term direction of the business and continues to work with key clients, helping ensure TLD stays true to its purpose, values and distinctive way of doing legal differently.
Ed has always been passionate about culture and community, and he continues to champion the people‑first philosophy that has defined TLD from the beginning. His focus now is on supporting TLD’s strategic direction while empowering the leadership team to drive the next phase of growth.
