I recently found this whilst sorting through some paperwork. It’s the original advert I applied for to join the fledgling TLD as a lawyer – back in 2009 before our logo even had its ‘T’.

And what a lot has changed since then. I became a director in 2012 and shareholder shortly after and become one of three equal owners of the business in 2018. The company is now 50 lawyers strong, and we have created a central team to support both our Client Legal Directors and to make sure we’re fulfilling our promises to our clients.

We’re now ready to embark on the next stage of growth. With the appointment of Sarah Clark in her role as Chief People and Transformation Officer, we’re shaking things up a bit and adopting the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS). This will help us plan, prioritise and communicate better and increase accountability and clarity in our roles and responsibilities.

Going forward, the senior management team will look a little different. I’m excited to be taking on the role of CEO and EOS Integrator and looking forward to helping the business deliver on its objectives and ensuring operational excellence. Ed will now be known as Founder and EOS Visionary –stepping away from the day-to-day responsibilities of running the business to indulge his creative side and focus on the future strategic direction of TLD.

What hasn’t changed over all these years, and what is still at the heart of our company, is our pledge to give businesses “the opportunity to have their own legal director on a flexible and cost-effective basis”.

It’s reassuring to reflect that, though the business has grown and will continue to develop, our commitment to providing exciting, flexible career opportunities for lawyers and business-focussed, innovative legal services for our clients remains the same.
